Jairo Trad

Jairo Trad is the CEO and Co-Founder of Kilimo, a company focused on leveraging artificial intelligence to optimize water usage in agriculture. Founded in August 2014, Kilimo operates as a SaaS-enabled marketplace that assists farmers in reducing irrigation needs and enables them to sell water offsets to companies aiming for water neutrality. Under his leadership, Kilimo has expanded its services to over 2,000 farmers across six Latin American countries, achieving a significant reduction in water usage—reportedly saving over 30 billion liters in 2021 alone.1

Trad has a background in engineering, having graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba in Argentina. Prior to his role at Kilimo, he co-founded another agtech startup, INSUS Ingeniería Sustentable, which provided IoT solutions for farms. He also has experience as a freelance Python developer and has held various technical roles in software development.1

In addition to his professional achievements, Trad is fluent in Spanish and English, and has elementary proficiency in French.1
