Jaimee Morgenbesser is a dedicated Disaster Recovery & Resilience Specialist who has been recognized for her commitment to supporting communities in preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters.

She has been awarded the National Emergency Medal and the Australian Red Cross Long Service Medal for her valuable service in the field.

Jaimee is also a Victim-Survivor of Domestic Family Violence (DFV) and Child Abuse, leveraging her personal experiences to advocate for the safety and well-being of women and children.

Following the devastating impact of the 2010-2011 QLD Floods on her community in Brisbane, Queensland, Jaimee's determination to prevent such suffering led her to a career path focused on disaster management and resilience.

With over a decade of experience, Jaimee has led and supported initiatives in disaster management, recovery, and community resilience across various Australian jurisdictions, encompassing both urban and rural settings.

She excels in managing programs, budgets, and teams while bridging gaps between government entities and non-governmental organizations, drawing on her lived experiences to build trust and facilitate collaboration.

Jaimee is a compassionate leader who enjoys guiding others to discover their passion and purpose, with a particular interest in diverse and challenging environments.

Her expertise spans leadership, advocacy, project and change management, policy development, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and knowledge management.

As a volunteer Climate Reality Leader and QLD Chapter Co-Lead of the Australasian Women in Emergencies (AWE) Network, she actively promotes the role of women in emergency management and disaster resilience.

Jaimee is a lifelong learner who seeks to connect with like-minded individuals to explore ways to better support disaster-affected communities and address future challenges.
