Jae S. Yoon, CFA brings over 20 years of experience to his role as Chief Investment Officer of New York Life Investment Management (NYLIM), the asset management business of New York Life Insurance Company. As Chair of NYLIM’s Investment Governance Committee, Yoon is responsible for the oversight of investment performance of strategies managed by NYLIM’s boutiques and affiliate portfolio teams.
Yoon is also head of the Multi Asset Solutions group managing third-party multi asset strategies. He provides macroeconomic, multi-asset investment theses and research for the firm’s independent investment boutiques and affiliate portfolio teams, helping to deliver strong risk-adjusted returns for investors across economic cycles.
Prior to joining NYLIM, Yoon held prominent roles in several prominent companies, including Senior Managing Director at both MacKay Shields and New York Life Insurance Company, Global Head of Quant Research/Risk/Analytics at Western Asset Management, and Managing Director-Head Risk and Performance EMEA-Pacific at Merril Lynch Investment Managers, and Vice President - Head of Risk Control (Asia) at J.P. Morgan.
Yoon earned both his Master of Engineering in Operations Research and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and he also completed a Continuing Education Program in Finance at Harvard Business School.
