Jae Min
Assistant Professor at Incheon National University
Professor Jae Min Cha is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in stem cell research and bioengineering.
He completed his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London, focusing on developing innovative bioreactor technology for culturing 3D stem cell-based constructs.
During his postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School, he led projects on controlling stem cell microenvironments for regulating ESC differentiation.
Transitioning to industry, he joined Samsung Biomedical Research Institute to conduct research on 3D-bioprocessing of adult stem cells, particularly MSCs, to enhance their therapeutic properties.
In 2018, he became a faculty member at Incheon National University, leading research projects in 3D culture platforms and bioengineering techniques.
His current research initiatives involve the development of therapeutic extracellular vesicles, GMP-compliant 3D stem cell bioprocessing, and 3D-bioprinted immuno-organ-on-a-chip for cancer diagnosis.
Professor Cha has collaborated with various organizations, including Samsung Medical Center and S&E BIO Co., Ltd., focusing on clinical applications and commercialization of research outcomes.
