Jacques John Visser is a highly experienced legal professional currently leading the Legal Affairs division at the DIFC Authority.
With over two decades of experience as a financial services lawyer, he specializes in multi-jurisdictional investment structures, funds, asset management, and regulatory issues in emerging markets.
Apart from his role at DIFC, Mr. Visser serves as the Secretary to the DIFC Higher Board and the Boards of the DIFC Authority and DIFC Investments Ltd., along with being the Security Registrar and Commissioner of Data Protection.
He holds a Master's degree in Banking and Capital Markets Law from the University of Johannesburg, in addition to a BA, LLB, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Competition Law from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Jacques Visser has enriched his expertise by completing the Oxford Fintech Programme at the Saïd Business School in August 2018.
Previously, he has held significant positions such as Chief Legal Officer at DIFC, National Partner at Dechert LLP, Managing Partner at IFS Consultants, and Managing Director at Franklin Templeton Investments.
