Jacques Cowan

Jacques Cowan brings over two decades of operational leadership experience in the retail and manufacturing/distribution industries, making him a versatile and accomplished professional. As a retail expert, he has spearheaded inventory control and planning, merchandising, product development, P&L management, sourcing, creative and branding processes. Throughout his career, Cowan has developed comprehensive merchandising strategies that encompass assortment planning, private label product development, sourcing, pricing, inventory and financial planning. He's also demonstrated his skills in researching, identifying and successfully executing new categories in large formats outside of core expectations, exceeding corporate expectations in the process.

Cowan's proficiency extends to the wholesale side of the business, and he has managed both manufacturing and merchandise for multimillion dollar volumes with full P&L responsibilities worth up to £500m. He's a passionate and self-motivated leader capable of training, evaluating and motivating large teams to success. His communication, presentation and reporting skills are second to none, and he has maintained a reputation for identifying and maximizing business opportunities for both companies and vendors. With his current organization Mac+Wood, he serves as a Consultant and Commercial Director, driving business development, strategic planning, system development, cross-functional team management, and merchandising.
