I teach an on-line course called Digital Law and Ethics to students in the Communications Studies Department at Bellevue College. 

This course combines a general overview of intellectual property law with a discussion of the history and ethical aspects of communications regulation, beginning with the telegraph in the 19th century and continuing through the various issues raised by the emergence of the internet and the worldwide web.

My practice focuses on transactional matters related to business and entertainment law.

Everyday, I help musicians, artists, filmmakers, and other creative business people negotiate and draft a broad range of agreements, from recording contracts and master/sync licenses to commercial leases.

I also counsel business start-ups. Is it time to make things "official" with your band? Are you thinking about opening a bar, recording studio, film production company, or some other creative business? I can help you through that process.

Together, we'll determine the right business structure to accomplish your goals, whether that's an LLC, partnership, corporation, or sole proprietorship. Then, I'll draft the appropriate documents and walk you through filing the paperwork you need to get up and running.

Once you're doing business, I'm there to help when legal questions arise. And if a question or problem is outside my areas of expertise, I'll assist you in finding somebody with the skills you need.
