Jacob Anderson

Jacob Anderson is the Founder and CEO of Sentim, a company that helps businesses understand their customers' emotions.1 He is based in Columbus, Ohio.1

Anderson's goal is to enable companies to better understand their customers through sentiment analysis.2 He believes that understanding customer emotions allows companies to prioritize what customers truly care about, differentiate themselves from the competition, and increase brand empathy.1

As Founder and CEO of Sentim since May 2017, Anderson has experience in creating Twitter Sentiment Analysis products, managing a data science company, and designing sentiment analysis software for parsing tweets. He also utilized Tensorflow to train and produce neural networks for understanding the emotion of text and has published papers in the SemEval and Evalita conferences.1

Before founding Sentim, Anderson gained experience through several software engineering internships:

• Google: Developed a state-of-the-art deep neural network in TensorFlow and performed research to improve affective computing.1
• Microsoft: Created a candy dispenser card reader app for the Raspberry Pi on Windows 10 and improved algorithms for an existing API.1
• MIM Software Inc.: Fixed bugs and implemented new features for future releases of the MIM clinical imaging software.1

Anderson studied Computer Science at Case Western Reserve University (2013-2017), with a minor in Artificial Intelligence and a focus in Cognitive Science. He also spent a study abroad semester at Jacobs University Bremen in 2016.1
