Jacky Poteau is the Operations Manager at the Haiti Development Institute (HDI), a newly established organization aimed at enhancing the capabilities of community-based organizations in Haiti. His role involves overseeing the development and implementation of HDI’s Capacity Building program, which includes reviewing grant proposals and managing the Incubation component of the program.1
Background and Experience
Before joining HDI, Poteau served as the President and Executive Director of FATEM (Foundation for the Technological and Economic Advancement of Mirebalais) from 2006 to 2014. This Boston-based nonprofit focuses on education, information technology, and economic development in Mirebalais, Haiti. Additionally, he was the Executive Director of 1000 Jobs/Haiti from 2009 to 2011, where he worked on creating sustainable jobs in Haiti's Plateau Central region.1
Poteau is also actively involved in various initiatives within the Haitian Diaspora and has held leadership roles in several community organizations. Currently, he serves as the Associate Director of Operations for GRAHN-USA, the U.S. chapter of GRAHN-World (Group for Reflection and Action for a New Haiti) .1
Education
Jacky Poteau holds two master's degrees: one in Health and Medical Informatics from Brandeis University and another in Social Work from Boston University.1
