Jack Morrison is a liberal arts-trained technical leader with a strong interest in fast code and bridging the gap between computers and the physical world. He is passionate about advancing long-term autonomous robotics and robotic perception through a blend of software engineering and research.
With a diverse educational background in Computer Science and German, Jack studied at Bowdoin College for his B.A., pursued a PhD in Computer Science at The George Washington University, and furthered his studies in Informatik at Technische Universität Berlin.
Jack Morrison has held key roles in various organizations, including being a Co-Founder and CEO at Scythe Robotics, a Computer Vision Engineer at Occipital, and a Co-Founder and CTO at Replica Labs (later acquired by Occipital). He also contributed as a Graduate Research Assistant at George Washington University, a Software Systems Engineer at MITRE, and a Teaching Assistant at Bowdoin College.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Jack has a background in academic and extracurricular activities, having served as a Freedman Summer Research Fellow, an Undergraduate Research Fellow at the Maine Space Grant Consortium, and a Quantitative Reasoning Tutor at Bowdoin College. He also honed leadership skills as the Outing Club Webmaster and the Scoutcraft Co-Director at MaKaJaWan Scout Reservation, NEIC, BSA.
