Jack Markwalter

Jack Markwalter is the Chief Executive Officer of CIBC Private Wealth in the United States, a division of CIBC. He has over 35 years of experience in the private client and investment industry. Markwalter joined CIBC Private Wealth (formerly Atlantic Trust) in 2002 as head of business development and became CEO in 2004. Under his leadership, the firm has grown its assets under management from $8 billion to approximately $94 billion, achieving a notable 95% client retention rate through strategic growth initiatives and acquisitions.12
In addition to his role at CIBC, Markwalter is a member of the Operating Committee and the U.S. Executive Committee at CIBC. He chairs several entities within CIBC Private Wealth, including CIBC National Trust Company and CIBC Delaware Trust Company. His previous experience includes serving as Senior Managing Director at Invesco Ltd., where he was part of the Executive Management Committee, and holding senior management positions at Morgan Stanley in various global locations.12
Markwalter is also actively involved in community service, serving on boards such as the Georgia Tech Foundation and Marist School, and has been associated with organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta.1 He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor's degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.1
