Jack Griffin
Jack Griffin is a business development expert, product manager, and marketer with a split career between Europe and Silicon Valley. With experience in both large and small companies, start-ups, growth companies, and turnarounds, he possesses skills in a wide range of industries and vertical markets. His international skills in English, German, and French, both spoken and written, are excellent. Griffin started his career working as a Business Development Manager at Apple Computer, where he helped launch sales & marketing operations, and from there progressed to Vice President-Sales & Marketing at Presentation Technologies Inc, before being appointed as the Dealer Channel Manager at Hewlett Packard, where he ran the European major accounts program and the worldwide dealer channel.
Griffin has also contributed immensely to the growth of companies, such as Advent Software, where he served as Vice President - Marketing and helped grow the company from $5 to $40 million, overseeing recruiting and building a professional team, product definition and development, navigating IPOs and dealing with the financial community, and making strategic moves as the industry leader in mergers and acquisitions. He has also worked in startups, where he demonstrated his managerial prowess, working with incomplete or inexperienced management teams, and reducing risks associated with technology and business in a low-resource working environment. Some of the startups he has worked with include Bacula Systems S.A, where he served as CEO and had the responsibility of dealing with angel and venture financing, mitigating risks, and overseeing multiple rounds of equity budgets and dilution models.
Griffin has gained recognition for his contributions, and held several senior positions such as editor at Cup Experience, Vice President-Europe at SoftNet Systems Inc, Senior Consultant at RevenueScaleUp Limited, and Brand Manager at Team Alinghi - America's Cup Defender. He has also served as the Outside Director at Nimbus GmbH and D2 Derma Europe Ltd. Currently, Griffin serves as the International Liaison at America's Cup Hall of Fame, where he is tasked with handling the organization's interactions with international parties.
