J. Scott Drennan is the President and Chief Operating Officer at Otto Aviation, where he plays a pivotal role in leading innovative projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of air travel. His work focuses on developing technologies that improve aerodynamic performance, such as the concept of super-natural laminar flow, which aims to achieve significant reductions in fuel consumption and emissions while enhancing operational efficiency.12

With over 30 years of experience in the aerospace and defense sectors, Drennan has held various prominent positions throughout his career. Before joining Otto Aviation, he founded Drennan Innovation in 2020, providing consulting services on aerospace systems. He also served as the Vice President of Innovation and Advanced Concepts at Bell Helicopter, contributing to advanced projects like HSVTOL and eVTOL aircraft. Additionally, he was the Chief Research & Development Officer for Hyundai's Advanced Air Mobility division, now known as Supernal.123

Drennan's expertise extends to regulatory roles; from 2009 to 2015, he was a Designated Engineering Representative for the FAA and served on NASA's Advisory Council Aeronautics Committee from 2018 to 2020. His leadership is recognized in the industry, as demonstrated by his recent appointment to the Board of Directors at Electric Power Systems, where he will leverage his extensive knowledge in sustainable aviation.145
