J. Bucy has been actively involved in the political scene in Tennessee for the past 27 years in various roles such as staff, campaign, and lobbying positions.
Their interest in politics sparked when a family friend ran for the Tennessee General Assembly in 1984, inspiring them to participate in campaign activities like poll working and door knocking.
J. Bucy holds a B.S. in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, an MPA in Masters of Public Administration, and has also pursued Ph.D. coursework in Public Administration at Tennessee State University.
With a diverse educational background and practical experience, J. Bucy has gained insights from working closely with governors, legislators, Democrats, and Republicans throughout their career.
Currently, J. Bucy serves as a Partner at Capitol & 5th Public Strategies and has previously held roles such as Lobbyist at Farrar & Bates, LLP, Director of Governmental Affairs at Tennessee Association of Realtors, Assistant to the House Majority Leader at Tennessee House of Representatives, and Assistant to the Speaker Pro Tem at Tennessee State Senate.
