Iwan Kurniawan

Iwan Kurniawan is the Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Modalku, a leading digital lending platform in Indonesia catering to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Modalku, backed by prominent investors like Sequoia Capital and Softbank Ventures Asia, has been recognized for its innovation and social impact, receiving the Global SME Award.

Before his involvement with Modalku, Iwan worked as a management consultant at Oliver Wyman, focusing on strategy development and risk management in the Financial Services sector across Southeast Asia and China.

Iwan Kurniawan is a Cornell University graduate, with a background in Applied Economics and Management. He has a diverse international experience, having lived and worked in several countries including Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, China, and the United States. Additionally, he is proficient in five languages: English, Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, and Thai.

His accomplishments have been recognized by various media outlets such as Forbes, CNN, CNBC, and local publications like Jakarta Post and Kompas. Iwan was also honored in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in 2018 for his remarkable achievements.

Apart from his role at Modalku, Iwan has been associated with other organizations like GoGMGo, SimpliDOTS, Paper.id, and Asosiasi FinTech Indonesia, where he held positions ranging from Director to Vice Chairman and Treasury Director.
