    Professor in Space Physics and Director of CUAVA, the ARC Training Centre for CubeSats, UAVs, and Their Applications

    Iver Cairns is a renowned figure in space physics and space weather research with a career spanning over 30 years.

    Currently a Professor in Space Physics at the University of Sydney, Cairns has made significant contributions to the field, evident through his 325+ refereed journal publications.

    He has been actively involved in various NASA missions, including serving as a Co-Investigator on the STEREO mission and more recently on the PUNCH and TRACERS missions since June 2019.

    Cairns played a pivotal role in shaping the Australian space science landscape by leading the 2010-2019 Decadal Plan for Australian Space Science.
