Ishani Sachintha Sahama, a Human Geographer, specializes in social and urban geography, gender studies, urban economics, sustainability, community organizing, and social justice.
Currently, Ishara is involved in social justice, sustainability, and environmental issues, aiming to drive positive change for the future. She holds key positions in The Women in Family Business Network (WIFBN) and Refugees Welcome Australia (RWA), focusing on SDGs 5, 10, 11, and 17.
Passionate about amplifying voices of marginalized groups in decision-making processes related to social and urban development, Ishara is dedicated to fostering diverse and inclusive spaces. She is completing a Fellowship with UN SDSN to build community trust in urban planning in Brisbane.
With a strong educational background including a Bachelor of Arts Honors in Geography, Urban and Feminist Geography from The University of Queensland, Ishara has also been actively involved in various organizations, highlighting her commitment to social and environmental causes.
