Ishak Mohammed
Consultant - - Adaptation Fund at the World Bank
Ishak Mohammed is an Accreditation Consultant with the Countries and Partnerships Unit at the Adaptation Fund. He joined the organization in January 2020.1 As a Ghanaian/US national, Ishak supports engagement efforts with applicant multilateral, regional, and national implementing entities seeking (re)accreditation with the Fund.1 His responsibilities include screening applications, tracking and monitoring the Fund's Accreditation portfolio, and contributing to the preparation of meeting documents and reports for the Board and Accreditation Panel meetings.1
Before joining the Adaptation Fund, Ishak worked in various roles:
- At FHI 360's Chief Science Office in Washington DC, where he helped advance the quality of science across the organization.12
- At the Green Climate Fund (GCF) in South Korea, conducting due diligence on project funding proposals and concept notes.1
- Research roles at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Saudi Arabia and the University of Glasgow in the UK.1
Ishak holds multiple degrees:
- Master's in Development Studies from the University of Glasgow
- Master's in City and Regional Planning from KFUPM
- BSc in Development Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (Ghana)1
He is multilingual, speaking English, Hausa, Kotokoli, Twi, and basic Arabic.1
