Ioana Balas

Ioana Balas is an accomplished software engineering leader who possesses a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Københavns Universitet. Her interests revolve around software architecture and medical image analysis with an eye for exploring the versatility of computer science. With over a decade of experience in the industry, Ioana has worked with notable companies, including Deliveroo, Hummingbird Technologies Ltd, Improbable, Gamesys, Caplin Systems, and Maersk Oil. As an Engineering Manager, she has led software engineering teams in various projects, ranging from developing products from scratch to improving existing features. Her strengths lie in focusing on technical aspects as well as design and user experience. Ioana's leadership style is characterized by enabling, mentoring, and coaching individuals and entire teams. In addition, Ioana has been awarded an entry in the Dementia Diagnosis Challenge, which won the first prize on Computer-Aided Diagnosis of Dementia Based on Structural MRI Data in 2014.
