Bashir is also a world traveler and has lived abroad, which has influenced her work and entrepreneurial ventures. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Delaware State University.1 In May 2020, she received the Shine-A-Light Award from Adweek.1
Beyond her professional achievements, Bashir is a mother who has traveled extensively with her son, which inspired her to create The Takeoff Collection.12 She is also launching Takeoff Travel Mag, a new Black travel publication that aims to center travel through the lens of Black people and people of color.2
