Imaan Taghavi, M.S., P.E., is a dedicated professional with a passion for using technology to address global water and sanitation challenges. Currently working at Arup, Imaan specializes in designing plumbing systems for commercial buildings and modeling flood hazards for building and infrastructure portfolios. In addition to these responsibilities, Imaan leads teams of engineers at Engineers Without Borders - SF Professionals Chapter to create solutions for underserved communities. She also advocates for equity, diversity, and inclusion in the design of the built environment and runs her own social partner dancing coaching company. Fluent in English, Farsi, intermediate in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, Imaan's educational background includes a Master's degree in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis. Her extensive professional experience spans roles such as Board Member at Community Arts Stabilization Trust, Community Engagement Lead at Arup, Executive Director at The Omni Movement, Advisor at Fathhome, Inc., and Business Director at Yoovo. Imaan also has experience as an Environmental Consultant, Research Assistant, and Co-Founder/Director in various organizations.
