Illangeswaran Jebanesan is a seasoned banking executive with over 25 years of experience in renowned banks like Nordea, HSBC in Hong Kong/UK, Commercial Bank Qatar, and HSBC Sri Lanka.

Having started in credit card operations, Illangeswaran has held various regional and global roles across personal and retail banking, credit cards, IT, change management, commercial banking, and operational risk and compliance during his tenure with HSBC Hong Kong.

His expertise includes C Level and Executive Reporting, Project Management, Personal & Retail Banking Operations, Change Management, Financial Crime Compliance, Commercial Banking Operations, Customer Due Diligence, and many more.

Illangeswaran holds a Diploma in Banking, Banking, Corporate, Finance, and Securities Law from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from The University of Manchester.

Throughout his career, he has excelled in people management, change delivery, risk and compliance, operational efficiencies, and large project management, resulting in significant cost reduction and increased operational effectiveness.

Previously, Illangeswaran Jebanesan has held key positions like Programme Director/Head of Capability Development at Nordea, Global Head of Customer Due Diligence at HSBC, and Regional Head of Business Risk & Global Standards at HSBC Commercial Banking, among others.
