Illam Pakkirisamy is an experienced engineer with a diverse background in chip design, FAB, and EDA vendors. With a rich history in the industry, Illam excels in bridging communication gaps between various teams to enhance productivity, resolve issues, and achieve low cost, on-time delivery.
Apart from his chip design expertise, Illam is also passionate about data analytics and sees the potential in leveraging data from IC design flows for increased productivity and cost savings. He led a pioneering project focused on extracting and utilizing data for metrics-based tradeoff analysis involving cross-functional teams within a design house and their partner organizations.
Illam's key strengths lie in his ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams and vendors, identifying and addressing gaps for continuous improvement. His 'Win-Win' philosophy guides his approach, and he believes in hands-on work to truly understand requirements and challenges. He emphasizes the importance of positivity, gratitude, and the belief that solutions are always present within problems.
Educationally, Illam Pakkirisamy has a solid foundation, having studied High School at Victoria School, Singapore, MSEE in Electrical Engineering at Purdue University, and BSEE in Electrical Engineering at University at Buffalo.
Throughout his career, Illam has held various key positions in renowned organizations such as Senseeker Engineering, Qualcomm, InvenSense Inc., Mentor Graphics, GLOBALFOUNDRIES, Chartered Semiconductor, Cypress Semiconductor, Intel Corporation, and General Instruments Inc. His roles have ranged from Design and Test Data Architect to Director, CAD, Technical Account Director, Principal Engineer, Manager, and Member of Technical Staff.
