Ian Smith

Ian Smith is a real estate developer and investor, currently serving as a Principal at Mariner Group, a real estate development firm he co-founded in 2012 with Trent Germano. The company focuses on high-value developments throughout the Southeast United States.123 Ian began his real estate career with Charter Properties in Dallas, focusing on land and retail development. He later moved to Atlanta in 1996 to work with Southeast Management and Leasing Corp., where he was involved in various development deals across office, industrial, and retail sectors.2

In 2007, Ian founded Knightswood, a real estate development and investment company active throughout the Southeast. Knightswood owns a diversified portfolio of real estate assets totaling approximately 1.6 million square feet. Ian has extensive experience in the Savannah market, notably developing Victory Station, a $24 million shopping center, in 2013.24

Ian Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Southern Methodist University, where he was part of the honors program. He is also actively involved with several organizations, including the Shepherd Center, Pace Academy, and Tophat Soccer Club.23
