Ian McFarlane

Ian McFarlane is a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in technology and financial markets, specializing in traditional and alternative data, data analytics, equity research. He currently holds the position of Country Manager for Ireland at LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group).

Prior to his role at LSEG, Ian served as the Head of Clients, Product & Alpha Capture at Eagle Alpha, where he was instrumental in building and managing their Alpha Capture product. Before Eagle Alpha, Ian spent 7 years at Bloomberg, working across London and New York in various capacities such as sales & account management, research, equity market specialization, and equity research analysis focusing on the aerospace, defense, and airlines sector.

During his tenure at Bloomberg, Ian authored numerous strategy and market articles for Bloomberg's Markets Magazine and website. Ian is a Master's degree holder in Finance from UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and is a member of the Society of Technical Analysts holding the MSTA charter.
