With a strong passion for advancing education and human health, Ian led a successful national network of private PreK-12 schools, achieving academic outcomes comparable to the world's top school systems.

He played a crucial role in the expansion of the school network through strategic real estate development, which involved aspects like location intelligence, financial modeling, acquisition, leasing, design, and construction.

Prior to his ventures in education, Ian focused on the life sciences, where he honed his expertise in optical biosensing and analytical instrumentation, successfully bridging research with commercial product development.

His academic journey includes holding degrees in Electrical & Computer Engineering from renowned institutions like Cornell University (BS) and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (MS, PhD), as well as pursuing a Certificate in Medical Device Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles.

Ian has held key positions in various organizations, including serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Vice President of Operations at BASIS Independent Schools, as well as the Chief Technology Officer at LS Instruments AG.
