Ian Barber

Ian Barber is a Senior Legal Officer at Global Partners Digital (GPD), where he provides legal analysis and expertise on various digital policy issues. His role involves engaging with legal processes at international organizations such as the United Nations and the Council of Europe, and he leads capacity-building initiatives focused on the application of international human rights law.1

Barber is a qualified lawyer in both New York and Washington, D.C., and has previously worked in law firms and non-governmental organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. He holds a Juris Doctor from UC Law San Francisco, an LLM from SOAS University of London, and a BA from McGill University.12

In addition to his legal responsibilities, Barber actively participates in discussions and events related to digital rights and governance, including topics like cybercrime and platform regulation.13
