Iain Webb
Enthusiastic maths educator
Iain Webb is an experienced educator with a background in teaching mathematics, including Advanced Placement (AP) Calculus and Physics. He is dedicated to creating engaging and challenging learning environments for students of all abilities.
In addition to teaching, Iain has worked as an Examiner for the International Baccalaureate, assessing exams and essays in mathematics. He has also developed courses on various mathematical topics, such as everyday numeracy and non-European histories of mathematics.
Iain is well-versed in a variety of programming languages and tools, including R, Python, LaTeX, MATLAB, and Excel. He has also authored educational materials, including a book on mathematical proof for non-specialist students.
Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Statistics at the University of Sheffield, Iain's academic background includes a Graduate Certificate in Statistics from the same institution and a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of St Andrews.
Throughout his career, Iain has held various roles in education, including Assistant Professor and Director of General Education Mathematics Program at the American University of Central Asia, as well as teaching positions at other institutions.
