Hugues Sweeney is an accomplished digital media executive with over 20 years of experience in producing innovative interactive experiences.
With a background as the former head of Bande à part and a founding member of National Film Board digital studio, Hugues has a proven track record of connecting large audiences through new media platforms and interactivity.
His work has garnered more than 150 global awards and distinctions, including prestigious accolades from SXSW, Webby, Japan Media Arts, Creative Review, and NUMIX.
Beyond his professional achievements, Hugues is actively engaged in the arts and culture community, holding key roles such as vice-president of Montréal Arts Council Board of Trustees and co-president of Culture Montréal Digital Committee.
Additionally, he provides counsel to organizations like Montréal Symphonic Orchestra, XN Québec, La Piscine, and serves on the Acquisition Committee of the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Hugues Sweeney pursued his education in Interactive Media with a Master's degree from Université du Québec à Montréal and Philosophy with a Bachelor's degree from Collège Dominicain de Philosophie et de Théologie.
Currently, Hugues serves as the President of Thinkwell Studio Montréal and has previously been associated with organizations like Partenariat du Quartier des spectacles, SODEC, Conseil des arts de Montréal, and MUTEK among others.
