Hugo Burbelo embarked on his tech journey during high school by participating in a hackathon where his team developed a groundbreaking project that won the Best Civic Technology App prize.
His project evolved into a successful product called FeedScore, which analyzes social media posts to provide real-time insights on public opinions about political issues.
Hugo showcased FeedScore at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the world's largest technology exhibition.
With four years of experience in various tech stacks, Hugo excels in full-stack web development and iOS mobile app development.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Hugo is devoted to promoting diversity in the tech industry and serves as the Co-Executive Director of Technica, the largest hackathon for underrepresented genders in tech at the University of Maryland.
His educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Maryland, and studies in Philosophy at Georgetown University.
Throughout his career, Hugo has held roles such as Venture Partner at Contrary, Site Reliability Engineering Intern at Atlassian, and Full-Stack Software Engineer at Phone2Action.
