Huda Al-Lawati

Huda Al-Lawati is a prominent business executive and investor with extensive experience in private equity, operations, and investments across emerging markets. She is currently a board member at Spinneys, where she serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director.15 Huda is also the Founder and CEO of Aliph Capital, an investment company focused on enabling traditional businesses to embrace digital transformation.23

Her career began at Schlumberger in 2002 after graduating from Brown University with a BSc in Neuroscience and a BA in Business Economics (Honors).3 Over the years, she has held significant positions such as Partner at Gateway Partners Group, Chief Investment Officer at Savola Group, and Partner and Chief Investment Officer for MENA at the Abraaj Group.23

Huda has been involved in overseeing substantial financial transactions, including over $2 billion in equity and $1 billion in debt deals. Her expertise spans growth capital, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, and structured equity transactions.23 Additionally, she serves on various boards such as MAGRABi Retail Group and Saudi Fransi Capital, among others.24 Huda is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization and has been actively involved with the Young Arab Leaders.34
