Hosein Badran

Hosein Badran is a highly respected C-level executive with a vast knowledge of digital transformation, innovation, and national digitization initiatives. He boasts of over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications networks sector with expertise in programmable networks, big data analytics, cloud architectures, IoT, cybersecurity, and technology policy. Badran is currently the CEO and Founder of Badran Digital Consulting Inc. He also serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of Abraar Private School and an invited expert advisor at UN ESCWA in the Arab Roadmap for Internet Governance project. Among his many achievements, he is a member of the Steering Committee of the Dynamic Coalition on the Internet of Things.

Badran's credentials include a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, ATM Networks from Queen's University, an M.Sc. in Telecommunications from Cairo University, and a B.Sc. in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Cairo University. He was also a Cisco delegate in the ITU Council Working Group on Child Online Protection (CWG-COP).

He has previously worked with Cisco Systems where he spent 14 years and rose to become the Regional Chief Technology Officer, MENA region, leading various digital transformation initiatives. In his most recent role as Director, Special Projects and Innovation at Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), Badran led multiple Machine learning and data-driven projects in various IoT and national socio-economic initiatives including smart transportation, e-health, and cybersecurity.
