Hooks Johnston

Hooks Johnston was a prominent figure in the healthcare investment sector, serving as the Managing Director at Inova Strategic Investments (ISI) and the Inova Personalized Health Accelerator (IPHA). He joined Inova in December 2016, bringing extensive experience as an investor and entrepreneur. Prior to his role at Inova, Johnston co-founded Valhalla Partners, a venture fund where he was a General Partner, managing two funds totaling $440 million and investing in 43 companies.12

At Inova, Johnston played a crucial role in launching initiatives aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery through strategic investments in healthcare technologies and innovations. The ISI was designed to invest in healthcare venture funds and directly in companies that align with Inova's strategic priorities, which include advanced analytics and innovations in clinical practices.12

Unfortunately, Johnston passed away in September 2017 at the age of 55, shortly after being appointed to his position at Inova. His contributions to the field of healthcare investment and innovation were significant during his career.34
