Hollie O'Brien

Hollie O'Brien is an accomplished individual with a diverse educational background and extensive experience in teaching and research. She pursued her Bachelor's Degree in Earth, Atmosphere, and Planetary Science at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) followed by a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania. Hollie has been involved in various organizations and roles, including serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Penn Engineering, Math Teacher at de Toledo High School, and Physics, Robotics, Computer Science, Astronomy, Rocket Science, and Engineering Teacher at the same institution. She has engaged in tutoring services through Tutoring by Hollie and showed her passion for education by being a Physics Teacher at Uplift Education. Hollie's enthusiasm for astronomy led her to intern at the Navajo-Hopi Astronomy Outreach Project at Lowell Observatory and conduct research as an Undergraduate Researcher at Observational Techniques Of Optical Astronomy Lab. Additionally, she has contributed significantly to the MIT community as a Physics Instructor for the Office of Engineering Outreach Program STEM Institute and in various leadership roles such as Publicity Chair and Academic Chair at La Unión Chicano por Aztlán. Hollie also gained experience in student teaching, research, and internships at institutions like John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science, MIT, Strategic Air & Space Museum, and NASA Johnson Space Center. She began her leadership journey early on as the President of Science Olympiad at Arcadia High School.
