Hind Hobeika

Hind Hobeika is a Lebanese entrepreneur and the founder of Instabeat, a company that specializes in wearable technology for swimmers. Born in 1987 in Beirut, Lebanon, she completed her Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Beirut in 2010. Hobeika's passion for swimming and her engineering background inspired her to create a device that allows swimmers to monitor their heart rates in real-time while training.

Her entrepreneurial journey began when she participated in the reality TV show Stars of Science, where she developed the initial prototype for Instabeat. This device is designed to be mounted on swimming goggles, providing users with immediate feedback on their heart rate and other performance metrics. After facing significant challenges in manufacturing and funding, including a near shutdown of the company in 2016, Hobeika successfully relaunched Instabeat in San Francisco with the help of co-founder Alex Asseily and raised over $10 million in funding.1234
