Hillary Quarles

Hillary Quarles is a committed PhD student at the University of Colorado Denver, specializing in Geography, Planning and Design. Her academic pursuits are centered around the nexus of food, technology, media, and urban geography.

Hillary holds a diverse educational background, having completed a Bachelor's degree and a BA in English from Yale University, an MLA in Landscape Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, a Master Gardener Certificate from the University of the District of Columbia, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Geography, Planning and Design from the University of Colorado Denver.

In addition to her academic endeavors, Hillary has accumulated valuable professional experience. She previously served as a Food Growing Education Specialist at the Capital Area Food Bank, owned her business, DC FarmBox, worked as an Associate at D.R. Horne & Company, and also held the role of Project Manager at EDAW.

Her research interests, coupled with her practical experiences, reflect Hillary's dedication to exploring the dynamic relationship between food systems, technology, media, and urban landscapes, showcasing her multidisciplinary approach and passion for creating positive change through her work.
