Herbert Fischer

Herbert Fischer is an accomplished high school teacher, college instructor, and certified NYC tour guide. With expertise in history, government, criminal law, tourism, NYC history, and the history of baseball, he brings a unique perspective to his work. He studied Journalism and Political Science at Lehigh University before earning a BA in Social Studies Education from Evander Childs High School. Later on, he obtained an MA and Ph.D. in Social Studies Education from New York University before studying 60-plus credits toward a Ph.D. in Education and Law at the same institution.

Herbert has taught History and Political Science at Borough of Manhattan Community College, as well as Touro and Westchester Community Colleges. He also served as the Professor of Criminal Law at The College of New Rochelle and taught Comparative Urban History in the Graduate School of Administrative Science at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Beyond academia, Herbert created, owned, and directed Apple Slice Tours and Talks, where he acted as a tour guide, college instructor, and speaker.

As a former Managing Editor, Investigative Reporter, and Editor-in-Chief of several publications, Herbert is an experienced communicator. He is passionate about criminal law, government, and the history of New York City and brings that enthusiasm to his teaching and tours.
