Hendrik Makait

Hendrik Makait is a accomplished data engineer and computer scientist with experience in machine learning, entrepreneurship and business management. He has garnered several years of experience in data engineering and building data systems, as well as working as a student researcher. His practical knowledge is paired with a solid understanding of state-of-the-art research in data systems and causal learning theory. Currently, he is working with the Data Engineering Systems Group at Hasso Plattner Institute, where he is redesigning message brokers for modern hardware. He is interested in building scalable data products and the intersection between machine learning and data systems while keeping business goals in mind. Prior to his present role, Hendrik has worked with top organizations such as SiaSearch, Project A Ventures, Otto Group and Blue Yonder GmbH.
