Hend Zaki
Senior Advisor at Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE)
Hend Zaki is a Senior Advisor at Immigration NZ/MBIE's Welcoming Communities programme, focusing on inclusion, diversity, and community participation.
With a background spanning various international organizations, including roles at the New Zealand Embassy in Cairo, the League of Arab States Headquarters, IFES, and the United Nations, Hend brings a wealth of experience to her current role.
Currently pursuing a PhD in Politics and International Relations at the University of Auckland, her research centers on the identity of Muslims in New Zealand and Australia.
As a Co-Chair of the Women of Colour (WOC) Network and a passionate advocate for creating wider networks of support for women of color in Aotearoa, Hend is dedicated to fostering inclusive communities.
Her academic journey includes a Master of Arts in Political Science from The American University in Cairo, a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English from Manhattanville College, and ongoing doctoral studies at The University of Auckland.
