Helge Daebel is a prominent figure in the field of water technology and venture capital, currently serving as the head of the water practice at Emerald Technology Ventures. He has been with the firm since 2006 and leads a global water fund worth USD 100 million, focusing on investments in innovative water solutions and technologies. His extensive experience includes board roles in various companies within the water sector, such as Optimatics and Pure Technologies, and he has played a significant role in several successful exits to major industry players like SUEZ and Xylem.24
In addition to his role at Emerald, Daebel is a co-founder and managing director of the ripple2wave incubator in Singapore, which supports early-stage water tech startups. He holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from ETH Zurich and a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.24
Recently, Daebel joined the Board of Directors at Kilimo, an agricultural technology company that focuses on water conservation through innovative irrigation practices. His involvement is part of a strategic investment by Emerald to enhance corporate water conservation efforts in Latin America, where Kilimo operates.13
