Helene Baribeau

Helene Baribeau is a water specialist with years of experience in applied research related to drinking water treatment, quality, and distribution. Her expertise extends to hygiene and sanitation in low-income countries, where she gained experience in humanitarian assistance, from emergency relief to development work.

Baribeau has a Ph.D. from Université de Montréal and Ecole polytechnique de Montréal, an M.Sc.A. and a Bachelor's degree from Polytechnique Montréal. Her work experience encompasses independent consulting, president of AQUAlity Engineering, research engineer in water, associate at Carollo Engineers, research microbiologist, water, hygiene, and sanitation officer at Medecins Sans Frontieres, and country coordinator for Rwanda, program advisor for Africa at Water For People.

She is currently a Distribution System Water Quality Leader at Brown and Caldwell and previously worked as a Water Resources Engineer at the State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water. Her fields of expertise include disinfection by-products, disinfectants, biological treatment, nitrification, regulatory issues, and water quality in distribution systems.
