Helen Paterson

Helen Paterson is an Associate Professor in Forensic Psychology at the University of Sydney. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia and completed her PhD at the University of New South Wales in 2005. Her academic journey includes roles as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Sydney and a lecturer at the University of New South Wales.

Paterson's research focuses on the intersection of psychology and the legal system, particularly in areas such as eyewitness memory and lie detection. She investigates how discussions among eyewitnesses can affect the accuracy of their memories and their psychological wellbeing.
