Retired from Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc.
Helen King, a well-respected figure in the field of gerontology, has recently retired from her position as Deputy Director at the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc. She had previously served as Assistant Director, Principal Planner, and Associate Planner at the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council Area Agency on Aging. She has also worked as a Social Work Aide for the Hillsborough County-Division of Welfare, Senior Adult Day Care Program. With an MA in Gerontology from the University of South Florida and a BA in Sociology from Berry College, her educational background complements her over 40 years of experience in senior care and advocacy in Pasco and Pinellas counties in Florida.
As someone who has been actively involved with nonprofits and community organizations, she has dedicated her career to funding, advocating for, and providing services and programs for seniors and their caregivers in the two-county area of west central Florida. The Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas, Inc., where she served as Deputy Director, is a 501(c)(3) private non-profit agency that she has been an integral part of since it was founded in 1974. Throughout her career, she has gained valuable expertise in the various aspects of senior care such as developing programs, monitoring services, and organizational administration.
