Helen Foster
Founding Member at Level
Helen Diane Foster is a highly accomplished professional with over 25 years of experience in various fields.2 She served as a New York City Council member for District 16 in the Bronx for 11 years, becoming the first Black woman elected within Bronx County.1 Foster also held the position of commissioner for the New York State Division of Human Rights from 2013 to 2019.1
Foster's career includes roles as an assistant district attorney in Manhattan and an assistant vice-president for legal affairs at St. Barnabas Hospital.1 She holds degrees from Howard University and CUNY School of Law.1
Currently, Foster is a founding member of Level, an organization that supports Black business owners.3 She expresses pride in being part of Level and appreciates the opportunity it provides to support other Black entrepreneurs.3
Foster resides in Bronx County with her husband, Eric McKay, and their two children.1 She continues to be involved in various organizations and serves on the board of trustees for Christ Church.1
