    Heather Sanderson is an Assistant Professor of Health, Exercise and Sports Science at Meredith College.1 She also serves as the HESS program coordinator and the director of the Lowery Fitness Center.12 Dr. Sanderson holds an Ed.D. in Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, an M.S. in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of West Florida, and a B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas.1

    Prior to joining Meredith College, Dr. Sanderson worked in collegiate recreation for over twenty years, focusing on student and employee wellness.1 Her research primarily examines the impact of undergraduate student physical activity in collegiate recreation on student wellbeing and academic success.1 She has presented her work at various state, regional, and national conferences, including those organized by Athletic Business, ACHA, ASHE, NIRSA, and NSCA.1
