Heather Engel is an accomplished leader in Development and Alumni Relations with a notable track record of fortifying relationships critical to the growth of complex institutions. With keen strategic skills responsible for excellence in fundraising, Heather has excelled as an experienced manager capable of handling a diverse portfolio with expertise in balancing competing priorities, instituting change, and building effective teams.

Heather holds a degree in History from DePauw University and later studied law at The John Marshall Law School. She brings a wealth of experience from numerous roles, including her current position as Associate Vice President for Gift Planning at the University of Virginia, and previously, as Associate Vice President for University Development and Engagement, Associate Vice President for Campaigns and Constituent Development, Assistant Vice President for Principal and Planned Gifts, and Assistant Vice President for Planned Giving, all at Rochester Institute of Technology.

Heather also has an impressive legal background having worked at firms including Sidley & Austin and Levin & Schreder before starting her own estate planning practice.
