Hattie Seten

2021 Rhodes Scholar - MPhil Candidate, University of Oxford

Hattie Seten is a dedicated student leader currently pursuing her education in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She has a strong background in political science, global studies, and Spanish, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree from South Dakota State University. Hattie has excelled in various leadership roles, including serving on the executive board of a national organization focused on youth political engagement and advocacy.

Hattie's passion for public policy and international affairs led her to pursue a Public Policy and International Affairs Junior Summer Insitute Fellowship at Princeton University, further enhancing her skills and knowledge in the field. She has also participated in language scholarship programs in Arabic through the U.S. Department of State, studying in Jordan and Morocco.

Throughout her academic journey, Hattie has been actively involved in a multitude of organizations, demonstrating her commitment to civic engagement and youth empowerment. She has held prominent positions such as National Communications Director at High School Democrats of America and State President of South Dakota DECA, showcasing her excellent communication and leadership abilities.

In addition to her organizational involvements, Hattie has also contributed to political campaigns and legislative initiatives, highlighting her diverse skill set and practical experience in the political arena. Her role as Campaign Manager for Representative Karen Soli speaks to her strategic thinking and campaign management expertise.
