Hashim Al-Tawil

Hashim Al-Tawil is a highly accomplished individual with a strong academic background in fine arts and art education.
He graduated with a high grade in Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus on painting and printmaking from the University of Baghdad, where he earned the 2nd position in the division and 3rd across the college.
Al-Tawil furthered his education by completing a Doctor of Philosophy in Art History with a specialization in Islamic and Arabic Art at the University of Iowa.
Additionally, he obtained a Master of Arts in Art Education from the University of Hartford.
Al-Tawil has held various significant roles in organizations, including serving as the Executive Vice President of the Michigan Chapter of the Fulbright Association.
He also has experience as a Fulbright Scholar Program Representative at Henry Ford College and as a Board Member of the Michigan Chapter of the Fulbright Association.
Other notable positions Al-Tawil has held include Advisor of the Arab Students Union at Henry Ford College, Board member of the Asian & Islamic Art Forum at the Detroit Institute of Arts, Professor and Chair of the Art History Area Studies at Henry Ford College, Director of the cultural program at The Arab American & Chaldean Council, and Assistant Professor & Chair of the Graphic Design Department at the College of Fine Arts, University of Baghdad.
