Hannah Woodhouse: Dedicated Violence Prevention Advocate
Hannah Woodhouse is the Assistant Coordinator of Violence Prevention and Advocacy Services at the University of Rhode Island (URI). She is a passionate advocate for ending domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of interpersonal violence.13
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversees the student group URI P.L.E.A.S.E (Peers Learning Educating and Supporting Everyone), which aims to create a safe and healthy environment at URI by educating students about sexual and relationship violence, stalking, and bystander intervention1
- Provides resources and trauma-informed care to victims of interpersonal violence, including sexual assault, domestic violence, and hate crimes3
- Coordinates learning opportunities to enhance Rhode Island's capacity to implement and evaluate sexual violence prevention strategies across all levels of the social-ecological model2

- Developed a passion for eradicating rape culture and sexual abuse on college campuses while still in high school, when she worked with inner-city and underprivileged students1
