Habiba Nosheen

Habiba Nosheen is a highly accomplished journalist and filmmaker. She is a three-time Emmy and Peabody award-winning professional.13 As a co-founder of Akelo Media, she continues to make significant contributions to investigative journalism.
Previously, Nosheen served as the co-host of CBC News investigative documentary program, The Fifth Estate, and worked as an investigative correspondent for CBC News.12 Her work at CBS NEWS: 60 Minutes earned her two Emmy awards.12

- Her documentary "Outlawed in Pakistan," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was praised by The Los Angeles Times.1
- Collaboration on "What Happened at Dos Erres?" for This American Life and ProPublica, which The New Yorker called "a masterpiece of storytelling".1

Nosheen was born in Pakistan and moved to Canada as a refugee at the age of nine.12 She is a graduate of Columbia School of Journalism's Masters program and currently teaches at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.1
In addition to her work in journalism, Nosheen is currently in post-production of her feature film "The Devil's Advocate," co-produced with ITVS.1
